I have the worst wheels ever. Refurbishment time.

+ new wheel bolts :)

Now the wheel are spiffy, the rusty bolts stand out (especially on good close ups like these).

& now you will need to make sure you brush your hair & wear a nice shirt when driving too!

Don't bother, they are crap. I bought a set and at least 3 of them split straight away. They won't fit over the locking bolt, either.

You can get a full new set of bolts (without lockers) for around £20 on the 'Bay. Or a small paintbrush and some smooth black Hammerite will make them look a million times better. My old 'eBay specials' bolts IMG_8839.JPG

I would second the quick rub over with wirewool & spray hammerite option - if you are not lazy (like me) - they look great afterwards.

Or just replace the set, it's not expensive.

They are £5 each!

Hammerite it cheaper and probably a more durable finish.

[ref]Pondrew[/ref], I see what you mean re the caps they are

Yeh - full set of cheapies (no idea of quality) looks like £20 give or take on ebay.

Febi Bilstein (good quality) somewhere around £40.

For that price, I wouldn't bother messing about painting TBH.

Go on, flash the cash and buy some snide ones from Ebay for £8..... or go the distance and buy some genuine floating ones from BMW for £90+

Ugly wheel bolts - Aesthetic solution - Never had an issue with these on 4 Z4s now. Finishes off the look IMHO.

I bought a set of caps on Ebay and they were hopeless so I binned them. They were so loose they'd have fallen off at the first bump!

I'd just buy new bolts, or paint them if I could be bothered. Actually I do have a spare set kicking around.....
