Took the scarlet beast to Boulogne for lunch today. The fragrant Mrs Petach came too, to ensure she could also burn a hole in my wallet. What a lovely day. Crossing was sh1t (courtesy of very low rent Sea France.....nothing was open on board apart from their sh1t coffee bar....never again!) Sun shone, roof was down, roads were clear.....could press on with maximum haste. Got to Boulogne old town for lunch at The Swan for escargots, entrecote, chocolate dessert, demi pitcher of vin blanc, grande cafe. Bliss!

It was as if the French had never seen a Z4 e89 before. Especially a scarlet one. Everyone.....and I mean everyone looked at it. From young kids to old ladies. A couple of people actually came over and asked what the car was! This is astonishing for a nation noted for their sang froid. Using fluent Franglais, I explained it has "six pot au feu"!, was "tres vite" and it "fait un sourir dans ma visage chaque jour" I was forgiven!

Covered 260 miles today. Average showing 32.5mpg whilst travelling at 80' ish on motorways etc. Felt damned comfy too after such a long'ish journey. Car behaved impeccably. have covered just over 2000 miles now since I got it, the engine seems to be loosening up nicely. Granny mode seems to have a bit more pep to it. Sport feels more lunatic and sport + dtc off is a mad knifeman. I laugh like a hyena when driving it. I love using the paddles......bang.....bang.....bang go the gear changes. Precise, solid thunks of change.

I am amazed at how quiet it is roof down at 80.

Splendid day (apart from sh1t Sea France.....they really are crap).

They are great I had a wee blast today with the roof down to the supermarket and back 8 miles each way but must be a problem with car as it took an hour and I travelled 60 mile

Wife toed my stones when I got home though :D

:D
Lovely, or should I say charmant, joli, agréable, magnifique, aimable, merveilleux :D

I guess the Scarlet beast is une fille charmante eh?

Might even hazard a trip over myself if that's the reception one receives, sounds like you had a fantastic day. N.B. I'm amazed at how quiet it is with the roof down at 100+ (on the autobhan of course  )

ref Sea Shiza Francais, totally agree, I don't think they care though! :voodoo: (Always found the frog I mean the French more friendly when they find out I'm a jock / Ecosse )
