I have been in the market for a Z4 for a little while now

I've been considering a Z4 for a long now, and I had some inquiries.
It was a nightmare to work on my Porsche Boxster, which I recently sold. Are these vehicles somewhat simple to maintain and access? Are they reasonably trustworthy?

Does this seem like a wise purchase? Does this year's model raise any issues? When driven cautiously, how much mpg do these vehicles usually obtain on the highway?

I would be very grateful for any assistance or responses.

Hey neighbor - I'm in SC! If you can go with the M40i with the 3.0L and 6MT. I have a 2025 and only had it a month so, can't answer your longer term maintenance question, but they seem "relatively:" simple to maintain and accessible for a modern car since its a straight 6 with a huge engine bay:) The B58 is one of BMW's best engine and has a reputation as being a very reliable motor and the transmission is rock solid.

I get 24 mpg around town under normal driving and 32 mpg on the highway - funny thing is it doesn't vary much between 55-75 mph, top up or top down.

I love the car and definitely get the 6MT- you won't be disappointed.

Hey Darrinkcarp002 - you might also look at the specific Z4 forums and ask that there as well so to hit up the model that you are thinking about from owners. Here is the link for the G29 Z4 (aka; Model years 2019-2026). https://z4-forum.com/forums/g29-z4-discussion.52/. In case you are interested in the older Z4's, there are also forums for the E85/86 & E89's on this site as well. Good luck and feel free to ask me anything if I can help.
