I hate mobile speed cameras!!

Currently holidaying in Florida. Two points worthy of mention:
Currently in a new but shitty Jeep automatic hire car. The speed tracks almost exactly on the speedo as it does on the gps. Do cars in USA not have the speed difference built in?
The motorway speed limit here is 65mph. I've never seen so many accidents. I don't know whether this is down to overtaking on either side, too many tourists, or not allowing sufficient space. Certainly I've been struck at how little space constitutes a gap!

Just thought of a third point - does anyone know the answer?
If speedos are set with different amounts of comfort built in, then are the miles clocked up artificially high and cause added depreciation on our cars - or at least cause servicing to come around quicker? May not be an issue on 10k miles but 75k or more......?

Vote catchers - Our local idiot councilor wanted to install them - on a hill! We got a petition up and stopped his stupid and devious little plan. He argued the safety of children, (none play in that area) we argued that it slowed emergency vehicles by 5 sec per bump - a series of 15 bumps could be life or death to somebody having a heart attack! If your speedo needle is around the one o'clock position (shall we call it "pm") whilst on Her Majesty's Highways....might I suggest adopting the following procedure?
Stay out of the offside lane(s).............
Mobile cameras are usually set up on tripods on bridges or in fixed positions in the rear of vans.
Surveillance will be directed specifically at the OUTSIDE lane(s)
Whilst the equipment is sophisticated, it is unlikely operatives will be looking for you in the inside lane...............
If you need the outside lane, then maybe keeping the needle in the "am" position might save you a few points.
