Hi, i got the "defective light bulb" light on my dash today... popped into halfords and picked up a bulb... came home and went straight on here to find a tutorial on "how to change the light bulb"...

I cannot find anywhere on the forum a tutorial on how to do this... i have read a few posts and i know i have to remove the top panel in the wheel arch etc... but i don't feel comfortable going any further without some detailed guidelines...

can anyone point me in the right direction to a post or if there is no proper post on this would anyone care to take 5 minutes out to tell me excatly what i need to do... sorry i am not the best when it comes to this kind of work, thanks in advance

OK - so do we guess that it's a front headlight, sidelight or indicator bulb out?

Pretty easy really. Open the service hatch which is easier with the wheel turned to lock or removed. Open the access panel by springing off the clip and wiggle it out. Remove the offending bulb and fit the new one.

If it's xenon make sure the ligths are off, else the shock could kill...literally

Make sure the seal is clean when you refit the rear headlight cover else it may leak.

what cj10 said basically it can be a bit of a fiddle replacing the cover so its worth taking your time the bulb is easy twist it out pull gently out replace replace twist in and like he said if it is a xenon then i would advise treating it as a high energy ignition unit and leave for a min of 10 mins to let any residual charge trickle off best bet after fumbling the cover off go have a well deserved cup of tea hey presto cup of tea finished system is safe !
