Hi all,
It was a long haul down to see it but it really was a revelation - whoever said the Zed was built for the 3 litre engine. . .they were right. I was still uncertain about whether this was the route I wished to take but within minutes of taking the 3.0si out I was sold. What a terrific engine and I can't wait to see how it performs and exploring it's capabilities on my favourite roads
Interestingly being a BMW dealership they could not sell my car without run-flats and the cost for them to fit them would have messed up the deal . . . so I suggested we swop tyres (putting the run-flats from the 3.0 litre on the my Zed and putting my non run-flats on the new Zed) and they very kindly agreed to do this which clinched the deal for me.
I too am looking forward to getting it out on the forum runs and I'll post some photos as soon as the car's back with me - got to make some decisions first about registrations and body treatments (gonna post about that separately for further advice) and the dealership have some work to complete - front brake discs and pads and rear pads so not sure when I will be collecting.

Modern Healey - Yes I'm with you there - That's how I thought of it - but that motor is incredible.

Like AUC itself the subject of run flats seems to differ from dealer to dealer. I never had an issue when I sold my previous Z4 to a main dealer. But as I found out later when I returned the car AUC is open to dealer abuse meaning they can sell cars without a full/complete service history.
