Stopped at Toddington services on my way home from Barnet earlier as had almost used the full tank I got at Costco last night, bearing in mind I paid £1.199 for super unleaded, to be faced with this...

Theiveing barstewards..

Chose the bog standard unleaded, and paused filling at the gallon mark to check price..

Broken the golden rule there Mike - don't fill at M-way service stations :(

Had no choice, my route s motorway virtually door to door. I normally go for a wander and find a Tesco or the like. Don't worry though, only put £20 quid in Xmas as I got home the range reads 9 miles :D just enough to get me to the shop in a bit, via Costco..

They really are Highway Robbers.

Still paying 118.9 at Tesco. :D

We pulled into a motorway services on the way up to Snowdon recenbtly. Pulled right on out again and drove on until Shewsbury where we found some of the hard stuff for sensible money. :D

Had to pay £138.9p for standard unleaded from a BP garage on my journey up north after christmas. I think it was just past birmingham. Charnock Richard?

Further up at Killington lake, it was £127.9p. 11p cheaper from a BP garage in another service station.

It's a complete lottery.

There are a couple of apps that tell you where “cheap” fuel can be bought

I use petrolprices.com but there are others

We stopped on the M6 on the way back from Ireland at the weekend just to get a pint of milk to tide us over till the morning .. bloody hell its highway robbery

Who on earth pays those prices ?

If I was caught I couldn’t imagine buying more than a gallon to get me off the motorway

Haha no .. got off midnight ferry at Holyhead .. needed a pint of the white stuff for the morning

Easier to stop on motorway than find a shop open at 3am

That is when they shout for you not to use your phone near a petrol pump

I expect you were hugely overcharged for the milk too!

Yup,
I filled up at Costco Liverpool mid last week and thought that I'd have enough to last me until I reached Sunny Swindon. What with all the running around with family matters I needed to do a splash 'n' dash to make sure I got back. M4 Membury services £138.8 / Litre for plain old unleaded . BAS***DS ! I was talking to the bloke in the shop (Minimum wage .. treated like s**t) and pointed out that this was £11 per tank more expensive and that Costco were hardly cutting their own throats. I usually fill up with the Costco 99 RON.

Better yet I was asked a couple of weeks ago if I was prepared to pay an extra 1p /Litre for Shell Vpower so that Shell could plant Co2 offset trees. FFS ! I quickly pointed out that if Shell cared so much for the environment then it could donate 1p /Litre from its profits. Evidently this was the reply from most people.
