I fancy an ///M - what about this one?

Not had my Z4 3.0i SE very long but love it. However, I'd quite like a bit more power and SatNav etc so wondered if this would be a reasonable buy: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321452587752&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
Any / all comments most welcome. :)

The car look's in fine fettle with great spec / the advert however i saw a week or 2 ago & found annoying in its format
Easy to get carried away with the £11995 but be wary of the 94k miles  not saying they can't do high miles but the ask price should reflect that & i,m not sure it does ?
There was a similar (tho no nav) M roady in Interlagos for sale quite some time with 106k for £8995 :o
No harm in viewing :driving:

The advert is annoying, but I really like the car and the spec! Also, looks like he'll do a deal to take my Jeep as a trade in, making it a £9250 change price for the deal which is quite appealing as the trade-in value is about £1800.
Buying it will of course leave me with my 2003 3.0i SE to sell after just having all the dings, scuffs sorted and new Falken tyres, Brembo discs and pas etc fitted. C'est La Vie I guess as I really do fancy the ///M. :)

Be careful and have a very good look round anything like that. One of these at 94,000 miles which has not been totally and absolutely nurtured could well generate some horrific bills.

Brakes, suspension, exhaust, engine (rod bearings, VANOS), etc. Each of these components has the potential to generate bills into the high hundreds and well into the £££ thousands at the drop of a hat.

I hate hate hate hate that advert - it reads like those adverts for double glazing done by the beardy northern guy in a funny costume on the telly

Looks like a nice motor, but poke round the service history as it's a little erratic - there's a gap of just 6 months but 15k miles between two of the services (which could just be a high mileage daily owner), then a 20k / just over two years gap to the next (usually 15k or so when they indicator is re-set), then just 10k miles to the next service less than two years later... Which could indicate that though it's not been driven often it has been driven hard, as servicing is by fuel usage. I guess it's possible it was serviced early, but I'd want to know why.

If you go see it - and the seller - can you record the conversation ? I want to know if he sells using multiple repetitive fonts and phrases in person

The bidding ended at £8600 last week and obviously failed to make its reserve, so it will be interesting to see what the reserve is, considering the buy it now price...

Interesting - I wonder if any of the bidders had seen it and held off going higher...

If it helps as any kind of comparison I recently bought my M roadster in April for £14k. Its a 2008 with 42k miles and spec wise has everything bar electric folding mirrors. Car was one owner with full service history, and was from a VW franchise who had taken it part exchange.

I had been watching the car since november when the franchise had it listed for £18k!!

In march they dropped the price to about £16k and I went down to haggle, using the impending inspection 2 and not long left on the rear tyres they eventually settled at £14k including a years tax. As I say this was a main franchised dealer, not private sale. In addition, on the second test drive (the lamda sensor went and they ended up replacing two under warranty at BMW stealer of my choice.

All in on private sale, personally think you could get a bit more for your money at the £12k mark.

I've seen this one for sale on and off for quite a few months now both auction and buy it now and it's not shifted. That makes my want to ask why? Does it have problems, does the seller just want too much. I don't know but I'd find out.

I've pointed this out to him and asked if there's an explanation; also told him that I'd like a full AA Inspection before going ahead. Need to see how he reacts.

I personally think its well over-priced i reckon its worth £10k max.

As others have said for £15k you could get an AUC car with 2 years warranty, a full years tax and circa 30-40k miles or i have seen private cars go for £13/£14k with similar mileage.

Mileage isn't everything and this Z may have had a recent Ins Service, brakes and tyres but if not then i wouldn't pay more than £10k personally and if consumables need doing it would be less :)

No offence to the owner but this one has been on the market for at least 4 months. I saw it before I bought mine. There must be a reason it's not sold yet? good things always go quickly......and you get what you pay for in life!

I wonder - if I bought it now, they would include 4 new premium tyres fitted, a new MOT, 3 months warranty and a full tank of V Power to get me home?

I'd question his definition of 'premium' at a cost of £450 for a set of tyres...

Worth checking anyway. You never know what buy it now extras you get until you ask :)
