You know what I actually miss on this forum? A board specifically for "My Car" posts, where one can introduce their specific vehicle, and over time explain all the modifications done to it. I don't think the "General" forum is suited for this, because I have an M, but I don't feel my M should be in the M-only forum, for reasons that many mods can also be applied on non-M's...

I think it would help gather all pictures and possible mods, and we could all learn from each other which options are available for our cars.

Anyone with me on this?

I think that subforum already covers it - there's a few folk wth "ownership" threads within that subforum...

I have to agree with you. In the past I ran the J33P Jeep club and we had a 'rides' section. This was in effect a database where all members could build the profile of their Jeep within a series of predefined section, engine, gearbox, mods. photos, etc. Each time it was changed it floated to the top of the list. It was also searcheable so you could find Jeeps with certain mods or a particular make and model.

It became the top viewed section of the forum.
 
Does sound like a good idea if it could be integrated into the forum and would not become an issue when upgrading the forum software... :thumbsup:
 
I would just add a new subforum called "Rides" or something, and have everyone who wants start a new thread about their ride.

I think it would make it easier to see what different modifications have been done on Z4's. It is hard to cover all types of strut braces or suspension setups in the HowTo threads, mostly because there is only one way to mount a strut brace, but many strut braces are available :).

And hey, if you're not a modder, it is still interesting to follow up a lifecycle of a car.

Do we have to call it "Rides"..? It would make me have to buy some big gold rings and get a sub-woofter :poke:
 
Hell, call it "My car" :)

I was yesterday looking for mods on cars, and noticed I only knew of one... FemmeT's, which I know out of a "My Car" thread on another forum :).
 
'My car' sounds a lot better than 'rides' - that sails too close to the wife swappers/swingers :)
 
On j33p it came out of the idea of readers wives and became readers rides. We spent more time with Jeeps than wives.

Cue the double entedre's

If the boss makes the facility I'm sure it can be called whatever people want.
 
It would be nice, though generally everyone updates in the gallery. Though there isn't a centralized one thread per person spot. That would be nice.
