I think your point is that it was nice just to escape for a little while from the same old news being rammed down your throat every day, with the same old arguments, etc.
Without belittling the loss of those thousands of poor souls, for those that remain it is nice to switch off, if only for 5 minutes to restore a little sanity; listen to the birds, enjoy the sun and realise life is still going on out there.

Sorry don’t know what I pressed there. I‘ll start again. You are right. I had to collect a prescription from the doctor’s surgery this morning. It is a twenty minute drive away. The sky was cloudless and the sun shining. It was such a delight to put the top down and forget about this dreadful pandemic for a little while. I added a few miles on the journey back. Not many just enough to ensure the oil was properly warmed up. Felt so much better by the time I arrived home. Helped by one of the wife’s homemade muffins and a decent coffee. :roll:enuff_zed said:
