Well this isn't an ideal first post, but here we are.
Have a 2005 E85 Z4 2.5 M54 5 speed auto, all black, I got it at the end of January, cheap, I've driven it about 9000 miles since then, it has 153,~~~ miles on it
I crashed into a lightpole last Friday, I'm ok, nobody else involved. I don't have full coverage ins. so I didn't make a claim. I got my car back to my house yesterday and I'm not sure what to do with it now. I'll attach pictures. I guess I have 3 options now,
1. Make a racecar out of it, I would love to put a v8 in it
2. Fix as best as i can and drive it on the road again ,I know a lot about cars and can do a lot but??
3. part it out and get some $$ out of it instead of spending more on it.
I don't have have piles of money but i can budget for parts when i need them.
Heres a list of what I already did;
All new intake gaskets, ofh gask, vc gask,
I rebuilt the vanos with Besian seals, new bolts, gaskets
GAS disa kit
new rear intake boot
new spark plugs
led headlight, interior bulbs
aux cord thing
I painted the rims and kidney grills black
I cut the rear muffler off to weld straight pipes on

Thats all i can think of right now, I'll post the pictures then go to the garage and contemplate/ take stuff apart.
I know everything from the front of the engine up is trash, at least 1 motor mount broke, that's as far as i got without jacking it up

Sorry to hear that, but good shot sir ! Dead centre.
A V8 in an E85 sounds fun.

Sorry to hear that its been pole axed but as long as you are ok, its all that matters.

For me that's parts only and buy another cheapish one, you will spend more sorting that out than its worth for certain :!:

Welcome to the forum, and well done for putting photos in your first post!

Although they are very sad photos. :(

But at least you are OK.

Looking at it and knowing one motor mount has snapped I'd be a bit wary of trying to repair it - I wouldn't be surprised if one or both chassis legs might be misaligned, and sorting that isn't a DIY job.

I guess that just leaves you with two options, sell as many parts off it as you can or turn it into a track car - with or without a V8.

Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Glad you are ok. As the saying goes you can replace a car but not a human. Not seen in the photo's but did the Air bags deploy? Agree with the earlier posts save yourself $$ , time and headaches part this one out and buy another complete car. Can recoup cost of new car with the parts $$.

Thank you for the kind words everybody. No airbags deployed at all, I could never turn the passenger airbags on with the key, i don't think that would have any effect on the drivers side but idk, no airbag light on the dash

Ouch! Bit of a light pole-ish and it'll come right out

I'd be parting it out and starting again if it were me. Maybe find a cheap one that needs a bit of work and you can move some of your good bits over?

Need to tell us a bit more of the story to this, what sort of speed did you hit the pole at?
Did you aim for the pole as you managed to hit it almost dead centre?
Did you swerve to avoid something else?
Dont you think there might be more structural damage elsewhere and its not just what you can see at the front end thats damaged.
I think its already been said but it may be best and cheaper to flog it on and get another one.

Welcome to the forum. :)

We have a saying where I now live. :o "Proper Job" :o You certainly did that on your Z4 sir.

Some sensible options from MrTidy. Good luck making the best from what you have left.

Hello and welcome
Sorry to hear your bad luck but at least you are ok
I think I’d be looking at buying another and using any parts from yours on it and selling the rest.

Fixing it for the road or track starts the same, you'd need to be able to have access to a jig. Car frame MUST be straight (in spec) before going forwards with anything aside from parting out. Good luck with it.

I think someone must have taken the airbag light bulb out - they should have deployed after an accident like that.

Ouch ! That's one solid lamppost :o

I agree with other's get a cheap 2nd and make good with best parts from yours and make one A+ car.
