I assume Bluetooth was an optional extra...?

Hi all,

New to the forum and a Z4 owner for 48 hours now: I have an sDrive 3.0i M Sport on a 60 plate. What I was hoping to be able to do was pair my mobile with the car but having tried the 'Menu' on the head unit, I have only Radio, CD and Aux. As there is no Phone option then I'm assuming this means that Bluetooth was an extra cost item and not specified when the vehicle was first purchased? As I'm not due to visit a dealer any time soon, can anyone confirm this is the case?

Naively, I thought it might be there as there are phone controls on both the head unit and the steering wheel and usually when options aren't in place, the manufacturer puts in blanking plates.

Cheers.

Hi and welcome along :driving:

Not necessarily with the blanking plates, I got a new company car this week, Audi A5 without Bluetooth ??

Had to have it OEM retrofitted yesterday .

Thanks for the info and I guess that's my question answered. I probably won't bother with any aftermarket kit as, if I'm honest, nobody interesting ever calls on my mobile!

Yep, sorry :(

I'm sure you could get retrofitted too, you'd quite rightly expect it fitted as standard but alas with the premium brands it's pay, pay, pay, my supplying dealer payed or the OEM retrofit when I complained, a guy came yesterday from London to do it, within 45mins he was on his way.

Hi Darren,

Not sure if I understood your post correctly - but are you saying you complained that there was no Bluetooth and the dealer said: "Know what, you're right. I'll stump up the cash and put that right."? If so, can I have the name of your dealer?!

Yes, that's right, it was Dulwich Audi, they organised for an independent satnav/coms company to come to me and OEM retrofit, FOC, Good luck
