I am so tired of this

I bought my 2.0 with airbag problems which after some months were eventually cured, by replacing 2 airbags and a control unit.
And now I have a 3, with various issues and.. Yesterday the bag light sent on, offs.. In all my years I have never had any trouble with airbags on other cars, BMW and Volkswagen make crap airbag components. I am sick of it. I love my z4. But for the love of God I am so tired of that bag light :x

Has it been to BMW to get diagnosed?

Indy?

Do you have Carly or other software to get any codes?

Anyone local had a look with their software to help out?

yes i have carly, and a few issues to fix, and of course my suspension woes, and i hear my dads words ringing in my ears. " the more complex it is - the more there is to go wrong.. " :o

My airbag light came on randomly one day. I cleared it using inpa and it hasn't come back on since. That was a few years ago.

I bought the cable and software from bmcables. It might be worth checking this yourself, as it may not be an actual airbag issue. A lot of electrical gremlins on bmws just need a reset to clear the light.

Get them on the forum as someone will have had them.

Might well be that something else is causing some of the errors.

Most airbag issues are due to bad connections not failed units. When the car tests the airbag circuits it uses very low voltage otherwise it would set the bags off. Any slight defect in the connectors can result in a failed test. Recently had a recurring airbag light on my Espace, kept clearing it and it came back. Did a detailed diagnostic to find the faulty circuit and check the connectors. Took a while to find the dodgy connector and it looked fine but since I cleaned the contacts it’s been fine.

if you can just show me where the rear passenger sits i will be just fine .. :headbang:

Some if not most of the 13 codes could have been in there years. Id make a note of what they are then clear the lot and see what comes back.
By far the biggest airbag issue on zeds (in fact all BMW's) of the vintage we're talking about is the passenger seat occupancy mat, however a simple bypass you can make yourself for pennies, or buy off ebay/amazon sorts that.
Looking at the codes you have I'd of thought its the seat occupancy ones that are causing the warning light. some of the others are for airbags/modules we dont have in europe such as the knee one and we also dont have the two stage deployment stuff they have across the pond (SBSR ones IIRC). However them flagging on scans on european BMWs is quite common, Mine for example always tells me it cant detect the SBSR modules every time I scan it, never flags a light and doesn't cause any issues etc. I dont known if its just the INPA/ISTA/Carly software I have scanning for everything or if the same would happen on a proper main dealer machine

Poor SBE passenger seat mat....hardly had any telegrams in last 10 years. Just...wanted....one....letter

2 things, one - can anybody give me a link to the seat bypass sensor ?
2 - am i right in thinking disconnect the battery before fidding with the connections ?

When I had mine at the garage to sort out the VVT Actuator I did a health check and it came back with loads of errors, most of which were for things that are working so I cleared them all and will wait to see what shows up next time

oh your not kiddin, ,if i took any notice of these fault codes i would be amazed it moved !

I have a red warning light on too, had it checked at the local garage and it showed a fault with front right actuator? He cleared it but it came back on almost immediately so I now have it booked in with Sytners! £90 ffs  just to put in on their coder. Bloody costly things these cars, thinking to P/X it for a push bike.
