I am DEPRESSED

enfield

Veteran
Okay boys & girls. Today was a beautiful day. Took the ///M out and gave it a proper spanking. Then I put fuel stabilizer into the tank & filled up with Shell V Power. After that I went through the Shell touchless carwash. Ran the engine for 10 minutes. Parked it in the garage and put the trickle charger on. I let the car hang out in the garage for 6 hours and just increased the tire pressure to 48psi in all tires (maximum is 50psi). Tomorrow I am going to the bank to put the keys away till April 2008 & then call my insurance company to tell them that the ///M is not coming out to play till April 1st 2008.

I need a hug! :hooters:

Awww honey  ...here:  :friends: ...so sorry, I feel your pain. Mine's getting ready to go into hibernation too, like me. I hate the cold and if i can't drive top-down..what's the point? :idunno:. Don't worry, we'll all be driving like idiots again soon enough

I drive top down at least once a month during the winter.

Why don't you guys get a hard top for it, then you can enjoy it year round?

I have a Z4M Coupe. Thus, the hard top is not the issue. The issue is ground clearence + RWD in snow. I am as of today driving the Infiniti FX45 with Blizzacks. I also got Bosch Icons. Those are wonderful blades for the winter. Here's a link: http://www.boschautoparts.com/Products/ ... s/Icon.htm

Sorry to hear that.. I lived in Ontario and I know how it is winter. Not to rub it in but here in California the temp today was 84F .. top down even at night  we keep getting that nice tan.

Just go to Costco, get the Z4 diecast model, then play with it. It's a vert, though... ... but they have it in silver... ... but not your silver.

Aw, schit... just keep the Zed out during winter!

And fire-n-ice... you just wait until InTgr8r hears about your comment about the "cold." Bah! :poke:

i texted my daughter in spokane today, that it was 74 today and i had the top down, high of 45 where she is......she's really lookiing forward to coming home at thanksgiving.

I feel your pain, enfield, I just did the same. Washed her up, filled her up, pumped her up, put her top up, and in two weeks when I get back from my Holiday with the family I'm gonna get a trickle charger and hook her up. Still contemplating covering her up. Stefan is now my daily driver till spring. I'm not against taking her out on occation though if the weather permits.

All that, plus the days are so short... so little sunshine... I guess it's seasonal depression for the lot of us. Good news is, we all have each other in here to get us thru the winter and I'm already feeling the excitement of spring and getting her back out on the road again :driving:

Keep in touch, mate!

Bah... you guys are wimps... I used to ride a motorcyle even in winter (non snow days).
The Z4 with a windshield, heater, and heated seat is like the Ritz compared to a motorcycle.

Enfield, you know that in a weeks time or so you will be calling the bank and ask them to send you the keys!!

I feel for you - do they use salt on the roads in Ontario?

When I go to BC in the winter the car rental place think I am mad wanting a RWD! :driving:

Yep - we use a lot of salt in Ontario. I usually put the Infiniti through the car wash 2 or 3 times a week.

Nah the DH ain't a touching that line again...

enfield - I feel your pain.... :( (somewhat)

I don't actually put mine to bed for the winter,
I prefer to keep it running rather than mothballing it (always wondered.. do moths actually have balls???)

Sorry :slappy: ...back OT..
I take her out for a run every couple of weeks when ever the roads are dry.

Side note;
enfield - notice that you're using fuel STAB...
Do you know if it's recommended by BMW?
I ask because when I had my Infiniti, they recommended NOT using fuel STAB because it could be problematic for the injection system.
It might be worth checking out.

Ditto, last winter I tried keeping this sexy babe in the garage all winter long, but it has proved to be impossible. Whenever the roads are clear I gotta take her for a little run & spanking. I'm only human. :) :)

I'm betting enfield will crack up eventually and go get this 'fix' before the abstinence get's the best of him. :driving:

I somehow doubt enfield has what it takes for celibacy. :tumbleweed:

Mine is in semi hibernation state. All cleaned up, full tank of petrol, BMW advance battery charging system (Battery Tender) hooked up. It will come out every week or so, roads and weather permitting, to terrorize the neighbourhood! Enfield, winters here are not that terribly bad - get out and enjoy a drive around the Thames every couple of weeks, maybe Ian and I will convoy out too. I just picked myself up a 50" Sony 1080p to ease the pain of winter - I too am a little sad.
