Perfect thanks.
Operation of the roof is currently behaving (touch wood), I did have an issue at the weekend regarding the windows not closing smoothly when closing the roof but that seemed to go away (again touch wood) after I performed the open and close procedure again. As long as these solenoids don't control the window close functionality of the operation then for the moment maybe no news is good news.
I've only recently taken ownership of the vehicle (and apart from reading numerous stories of roof problems [which seems to be the norm] I'm loving it!!!). Just need this UK rain to go away.
One of my reasons for the post was that as a result I'm currently going through areas which people suggest may need preventative maintenance etc. The rear light had been replaced previously without the 3rd screw hole being filled up and the other side needed replacing as well, so have now do that on both sides. Salmon relays are my next port of call.
Other than this I'm not sure why the solenoids look a little furred - I'll never know I guess. The actual battery compartment looks dry and clean so not sure. Will defo be keeping an eye on the rear water ingress going forward.
Thanks for your thoughts here - great that people are able to share their views and knowledge on sites like this to the benefit of newbies and mechanically/electrically challenged people such as myself.
