Hydraulic oil leak on roof

Hi, new to this forum as we have only owned the car for 2 weeks now (2011 e89 30i highline). Opening the roof today i got covered in hydraulic oil. ive not full investigated the problem yet as im looking to order some oil for the pump to make sure it doesnt run out while looking for the leak. Has anyone else had a simular problem? ive found on a different forum (https://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=976373&page=4) that someone has managed to repair the hose (if thats whats leaking), but does anyone know where i could find the hose and the connectors for this in the uk?

I had one go on my 35i, you have to replace the whole hose.

If your a competent at tinkering its not too bad.

The name of the company that supplies the pipe escapes me at the moment but will find out and post later.

Jack oil will do the job from Halfords, the stuff from BMW is a fortune.

Once you have identified the hose, there is a number on both ends and the pump you can order one.

Thanks got some oil and once my brother is free (used to be a car mechanic) I shall get it looked at. I like the idea of changing the full hose if it’s not too hard rather then repairing it. At least the system isn’t under pressure when not in use so it’s not leaking all the time as it’s my wife’s only car.

Ive found which hose thats leaking (number 23). When you changed your hose did you have to take the roof panels off to get to all the hose? We have been looking at the workshop manual that someone has shared on here and found quite a few usefull bits but not one that tells you the correct way of removing the 2 roof panels. Also noticed that once the roof opening squence is started we can then manually move peice with the rear window but wouldnt be able to open the boot.

Thank you for your time. Very kind of you. Hopefully we will be driving about with the roof down again soon :)
