I recently picked up an 03 Z4 2.5I Auto, with the manual heat / ac controls, from Miami and drove it back to Chicago. At the time of pickup I noticed the heat was not working. Once back in Chicago I came to discover that the heater core was bypassed altogether. No biggie, hooked it up and got heat. All is great until we get our first hot day and I realize that no all I have is heat! The ac kicks in when I press the ac button but the air is as hot as can be. It also seems that no matter where I turn the temp control knob the air blows just as hot. So I bypassed the heater core again and now it blows cool.
I am led to believe that the faulty part here would be the control panel with all the brains, the knobs. Does anyone have any experience with this? Also I am curious if the auto control panel would work with my manual set up. I think I read it wont, i don't care about the auto mode but it would be nice if it did as the manual boards are very hard to find.
