hurt back and z4 seats

i have a se with the normal heated electric seats.

a couple of weeks ago i was off work for a week with flu and during that time i coughed so much i developed a back ache. i think i severly pulled the muscles in my left hand side.

so now im generally ok but i find sitting in the z4 very very uncomfortable. to the point where turning right is painful. i know im still getting over the pulled muscles still but im ok as a passenger in other cars and sitting at work etc but 10mins in the z and im in great pain again.

is there any way to adjust the lumbar? it feels like the middle of my back is pushed forwards whilst my shoulders are backwards.

up till now ive found these seats ok. i had a fiddle whilst driving today but couldnt get comfy at all. at the mo im just trying to avoid going in the car at all. backs a fickle things and if this doesnt go away i dont know what i can do.....

there is no lumbar support on those seats. i've seen a product in the shops that you stick on the seat to give you support. it's curved so fits with the natural curve of your spine.

I had really bad lower back pain in mine after an hour or so in the car. I did the seat spacer mod on hear. Look it up in the e85 section it might be of interest and help. If you think it will help and I have the bits left over I can knock a set up for you.

I wished the side bolsters could be adjusted on my 3.0si..
At 6'1" and 235 lb, Im a tad oversized for Sport Seat.
Warmer weather requiring no jacket makes for a better fit..
Until then there are always Tylenol 3's
Actually the seat heaters work wonders on my back.

 I don't know weather that's cos you have no sympathy for the guy or cos of how bad the lumber support is with these seats?!

Domsz4 - hope it get better soon

i hadnt considered the mod MM. up till now ive found these seats just fine. the only time i really got fed up with them was when i drove from nothern germany back to liverpool in one day.
tbh im not convinced that raising the front of the seat with spacers would help with this. its the back part thats the issue as it feels like they have tried to mould the seat to make you reclinced. its that bit that seems to be diging in right where it hurts.

i think its just one of those things that ill have to try and keep out of it till the back is better. or see about some sort of olde-man cushion. the seat heaters would help on longer hourneys but most of mine are 10 mins or less.

if you had what i had it was horible. started as a normal cold/sorethoat and then just wiped me out. i dont think i have ever been that ill.

oh and just to add insult to injury while trying to placate a neighbour i managed to swing the front end into a plantpot and scrtach the bumper! bastard!
