Hunter wheel alignment

I went to get my Hunter wheel alignment done today at Kwik Fit

The result was I did not need any changes on the front as it was virtually spot on but the bloke told me that the rear camber needed doing. Now he said they can't do it as you need a special tool from BMW?

BMW ask £90 even before you get the car on the machine plus the standard charges to adjust the camber etc? Is their no other place that does this that would have the BMW tool needed? Obviously when the back is done it may throw the front out and need that doing maybe!

I was a tad p****d off to hear this after sitting waiting for an hour to even get the job started!!

Anyone know of a place that can do this without being ripped off by the main stealer?

Looking at the pic below anyone tell me if mine is out a Lot? He seemed to think that it was and needs doing asap and will gteatly improve steering?

This is why you should go to a proper place that has the correct tools.

I used a place near me called Skidmarques who had all the equipment to do mine no problem.

Hi, I would suggest the Wheel alignment centre (0151 933 5111) may be the place for you to speak to. They are near the docks in Liverpool and have a good reputation for both domestic and commercial vehicles.

Super will give them a call

Let me know what they're like if you don't mind, Sasker. My alignment guy in Bolton left his garage - to go work for BMW ironically. He was good too but I'm not paying BMW prices for something his old place charged me £60 for. Not sure what they've done there as regards his replacement but he was a good 'un - hard to replace I would imagine. I've heard good things about the place down near the docks.

Yep will do I sent them an email last night so if I can get hold of them today I might go down or if not will be next weekend.

To me it looks like mine is out a lot at the back so don't want to leave it too long before getting it all sorted

I'l be giving Infinity a trial next time im up for alignment , very positive reviews

Have any of the North East members any experience with Revolution in Dunston?
It looks very professional but any comments would be appreciated.

Let me know what you think if you use them Mort.

I had Tyre Spot down next to Blaydon Bridge recommended by the garage that fitted my new rear tyres.

Can't say I would recommend them even though they were friendly and I've used them for tyres a lot over the years. Wasn't convinced but have a read out, saw the equipment and the settings they used (I wanted to confirm they were using right one) and have a photo of the screen set up - although the lad on the desk filled me with confidence the very young lad who couldn't even free off one of the camber fixings did not  Expensive too - £120 and that was a reduction as they only had to correct camber on front left and rear right.

:driving:

I recently had Hunter Wheel Alignment carried out by D.P Tyres in Bryn, Wigan (http://www.dptyres.co.uk/)

Very pleased with the competent and professional work done by young Craig Topping here. Only the front toe required slight adjustment and so the charge was just £30 :)
