Howdy!

Just bought my 2003 2.5SE and loving it. Also just come across this forum - a proper week of discovery for me! While I am perfectly happy listening to the burble from the twin pipes and the occasional CD , it would be nice to be able to use my iPhone 6S to stream Spotify offline (I'm new to that too - maybe I should get out more!). The simplest fix I can see is a cable connected to the rear of the head via the aux connection - example here:

Does anyone have any experience of how effective these are - if at all?

Hi Smayles, lovely Zed. You will have some fun in that! :driving: Unfortunately, personally I haven't the foggiest about streaming Spotify offline but there are some iWizzards on here and hopefully one will hopefully come round soon. I am not familiar with the Fruit-Car-Cables install but there are many threads on this forum such as http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=83691&hilit=aux+install#p1239755 and loads more. Please keep us all posted with pictures and good luck!

Hoya and welcome from a fellow 2003 2.5se owner :)

I bought and fitted the fruity cable to my factory fit headunit when I first bought the car and it worked ok. 1 thing to be aware of though is if you use a usb plug in the cigarette lighter to charge your device...DONT site the aux in near to it (I fitted mine in the ashtray) and it caused terrible interference when playing and charging the device at the same time. Was ok when playing music but if the charger was plugged it at the same time a whine made the music impossible to listen too, must need some form of shielding. I ended up biting the bullet and fitted a DAB headunit instead.
