how vulnerable are m's to key reprogramme theft

Has anyone on here come across this key reprogramming by thieves and what are we supposed to do ?

Z4MR and Z4MC have old style key, so I don't think they are affected.

I've been trying to get through to their new helpline all morning - its been engaged constantly! Its really worrying knowing that your car can be gone in less than 2mins! :(

Try this number instead. People on PH saying it's answered quicker than the number quoted on Watchdog:

Thanks for the number - got through straight away!!!! The lady said that they will be releasing a software upgrade free of charge in 8 weeks time, I told her I was shocked at how long it takes to be released and she said it has to be tested.... She said that I was caller number 1,200 this morning concerning the Watchdog Report... time to wake up BMW :)
 
i shouldnt worry too much, it will take them more than two minutes to shift from first to second,!! :rofl: unless of course you've done the cdv and amsoil !
