Scroll to 2:15 if you get bored waiting.

We see so many videos of people who want to exercise their rights to withhold information from the police, working themselves up while trying to make a public stand against "The Man", rather than just complying and getting on with their day. This video should be shown in schools around the world :)

Agree jabber, I told both of my kids, always be polite and don't act like a tool with the Police, if they ever got pulled over.

I give them their place but not out of respect, I do it because arguing with them will only make things worse.
I have had too many dealings with the police in all sorts of situations to have any respect for them.

I wouldn't want to do their job, to many scumbags who seem to bait the Police these days. It's no wonder some are coppers appear to be A holes, when you see how they are treated.

Likewise. It must be very similar to parenting or being a teacher. You won't always be right, but regardless, you have to maintain control and make judgements on what you're faced with. Quite simply though, it's far more likely that you'll get in trouble with the police if you act out of line than if you play ball. Loads of people get all butthurt when they're caught out for breaking the rules, like it's the copper's fault. I've only been pulled over three times in 19 years, but two of those times I was breaking the rules. Can't complain!

What a lot of people forget is that the job of Police is to enforce the law. When they pull you over for braking one of those laws they usually don't know you from a bar of soap. They are just doing the job required of them, for the greater good. Its when the driver of the stopped car decides to fail the dickhead test that things can get interesting. What was going to be a simple vehicle stop and issue of a ticket can easily escalate into a handful of tickets, defect notice on the car etc. All because of attitude to someone doing the job required of them. If you get a cop who is cranky from the outset, possibly because of the way you have driven, I can tell you that getting in their face doesn't calm the situation. Be polite, take the ticket etc and if you don't agree with it, take the available action such as pleading not guilty.

Perhaps that says more about you than it does about the police :poke:
It would if I had been on the wrong side in these situations.
