How to swap roof motor pipes?

Hi,

I put a new roof motor. The top closes easily but doesn't open.
I've seen in the forum I could swaps the pipes on the roof pump to check if it reverse the problem.
Will there be hydraulic oil everywhere? Will it immediately leak from the pump or the lines?
I don't want to have an oil mess in the boot.

Put the pump and hoses into a small washing up bowl/ice cream container with the pump stopped there will be a small amount of oil loss but can be kept in the container with the help of a few cloths

Tape the four hoses together as pairs so you do not get mixed up
