How to route iPod cable from trunk to center console?

I just recieved my ipod adapter and was getting set to hook it up. I saw a few people that routed to cable from the trunk to the small cut-out hold in the center console but for the life of me, I can't figure out how they did it without taking everything apart. I've attached a couple pics of where I want to go to and from. Any help would be appreciated. :D

I've jus fitted my iPod adapter today too! The best way is to drill a hole in one of the cubby holes. Look in the boot where the cables come out, there is only 1 visible plastic container, drill the hole in that, and push the cable through from the cabin and hook it up to your iPod interface.

Ya, I was thinking of doing the same thing. I guess once the carpet is back no one is going to see the hole anyways. :D

If I were to drill a hole where i've circled in pic 2 so I can run the cable. Where would the hole show up in pic 1?

I've done this by hijacking the cd changer cable which is already routed through to the head unit from the rear of the console.
I put the jack in the little oddments tray just in front of the center console so that my iPod can sit in it nicely without wires going everywhere. It required a bit of work to get at the cables through from the back but worked a charm. I have been meaning to write up my project for a while but been pretty busy. Am happy to offer advise if needed. PM me.

Greetings,

I read the post on drilling the holes through the back of the firewall or utilizing the bluetooth cable location. I would like to use the bluetool location identified in the illustration circled as well, did this work for you? If not my second route was also to drill from the back of the access hole into the console like you had circled, did that work?

Regards,

It comes apart very easily, there is a guide around somewhere. My iPod is now attached neatly to the back of the cubbyhole door.

No need to take the console apart. I used a nylon cable puller (e.g. http://1st-product.com/products/199/Cable-Puller-4mm-Solid-Nylon-107548.html) to reach the trunk. When fed through the hole in picture 1, the probe will pop up in the lower edge of the opening in picture 2.
