The front brake pad warning light came on .After inspecting the front pad I discovered the brake sensor lead had snapped which I have replaced the lead but can't workout how to cancel the dashboard warning. My car is a 2009 2.3i without I drive control ,can anybody advice me

Dont know on your car but my e46 330 resets after so many presses on the pedal once it knows there is no fault

Have you driven the car since replacing the sensor?
Most brake inputs need to see wheels rotating for a period to work out everything is fixed?

You can reset through the left stalk,
Can't remember sequence, probably on Youtube somewhere.
If it won't reset that way, certainly I found if the mileage of pad wear left goes minus, then go to independent garage to get the reset tool on.
Cost me the price of a couple of pints.

Copied and pasted this from a previous post , as the link thing is not working on my pc ?

"Ignition all the way on, but not started and wait for 45 seconds. Ignition off and then back on and all should be good.
Well that's what worked when my brake sensor light came on and I changed the pads.

Cheers
Lance"
worked for me, and many others ...good luck !

Oops... no E85 , must read more carefully :D

Go to the service menu where it shows the brake status then hold the trip counter reset. It then gives you a choice to perform a reset using the left stalk to confirm. Only do it if you have actually put new pads and a sensor in otherwise it will lock it and only BMW can unlock it.
