How to remove green stuff from hoods

Ive got a silver coloured hood on my 2003 that shows up green foosty stuff really badly. Ive tried to clean it using Auto Glym roof cleaner, but they arent shifting too well. Anything better at taking the stuff off? :?

I'm sure the detailers will be cringing... But a scrubbing brush & the pressure washer bought my roof up good as new

What's wrong with a pressure washer?

Can't tell I've never owned a soft top can you?

A pressure washer burns skin. Hold it againt stone or any other hard surface and it will clean it bare. Wont do your soft top any good :poke:

Much better to treat with TLC

Auto Glym hood cleaner and Renovo roof restorer are your best bet :)

Hoover the roof first, soak it with a hose pipe, and then clean it with washing powder (persil, aerial, daz etc etc) and a soft scrubbing brush to remove the mould/stains. Don't let it dry (add water as required) whilst cleaning the roof. Once you're happy the dirt/stains/mould are gone, rinse thoroughly, then clean again with Autoglym/Renovo/Roof cleaner of choice. Once dry, re-proof with Autoglym or Renovo.

Should come up a treat , but once you've cleaned and re-proofed the roof, you will need to clean the car :D

Sounds like good advice fella. I'll give it a bash at the weekend :)

Just done mine again today, renovo now drying

One thing I forgot to mention is that I crack the roof open a bit to take the tension out when applying the proofing liquid - seems to make the absorption easier
