How to remove front droplink nuts?

Well I'm all set today to fit my coilovers but failed at the first hurdle! How do you remove the nut holding the droplink to the shock? One side is a 16mm nut and the other some plastic cover, does this pry off (doesn't seem to) the nut spins but the bolt is going with it also and this is on both sides. Any advice?

Thanks

Adam

Not done one on a Z yet but you may find that either the end of the threaded section/bolt is actually machined to a hex shape to take a socket or spanner so you can hold one part still while turning the other, or there may be flats machined onto the stud between the head and the mounting to take a spanner on one side of the mounting while you undo the nut on the other.
I did the drop links on my lad's Mercedes recently and they had the stud machined into a 7mm hex shape but as it was pretty corroded this soon rounded off. I ended up cutting the nuts off which wasn't a big issue as they were being replaced, but if you're hoping to reuse them get plenty of penetrating oil like plus gas on there first.

There's flats on the drop link side of the bolt, you need to hold them with an open spanner or an adjustable and then you'll be able to turn the nut without it all turning. It's a ball joint hence everything spinning if it isn't held

yup, you theres 2 flat edges on the other side to take a spanner
