How to remove emblems on e89

Hi,
I just had a front respray and when I got the car back I noticed the front emblem looked slightly worn. It probably was scuffed this whole time but flawless respray now makes it stand out.I tried prying it out (pry tool with credit card under to prevent scratch) and it just wouldn't budge, I then removed the grill to check if it was held by nuts and it doesn't seem to be (I see nut shaped grommets holding a tapered plastic pin). Also the emblem has 3 pins (2 main pins and 1 positioning at the top) not 2.

I plan to replace all the emblems (apart form the boot button) with black versions. How do you remove the front emblem on the e89? Also how do you remove the side emblem?

The front emblem is held by the two nut shaped items which grip the tapered plastic. Just unscrew and it lifts out. The side emblems are held by double sided sticky tape, best way I found is to use fishing line to cut them away from behind and then clean up the residue either by rubbing with a cloth or a little "T' cut.

I haven't done it myself but did read once that heating the side emblems gently with a hair dryer helps soften the adhesive and helps in their removal. Dental floss was suggested to cut them loose.

Nah guys I found out (from a specialist) that e89 badges are all held by nuts. NUTS.
Only way to safely take out side emblem is to first take out the panel. I've decided to forget putting on the decal on the side. My design btw was to add a matt black vinyl decal on the side in the indicator area similar in shape to the Z4 Zagato concept.

The BMW emblems are, I believe, held by nuts but all the model details are double sided tape

I just bought a Z4 and the "3" of the "3.0I" on the side fender is backwards/upside down. Does it just pop out or is it attached with a nut as well?
