Anyone that could kindly let me know please... :)

Reason being is that i have a little Engine Mod i want to try out and it says that i need to find the IAT (Inlet Air Temp) sensor.
Then i need to find / locate the 2 signal & communication wires & not the 2 power wires!

Any ideas!

Cheers all!

You're not going for one of those '100bhp' resistors are you :?

Ah the old trick the ECU into thinking the air temp is different and then pump more fuel in....

As to where the sensor is - sorry can't help.

IAT is part of the hot film air mass meter (just off airbox, plug is easily accessible/visible as soon as you pop the bonnet), it's a negative temp coefficient thingy, so less resistance the hotter it gets.

Adding some resistance to the return signal will fool the ECM into seeing lower intake air temps.

I can't see it doing much except screwing up lots of nice features through warm-up cycle fuelling levels, to pre-cat heating, engine lean/rich running safety mappings and all sorts. Hopefully a fault code will stop you doing any harm, as the car resorts to using the engine coolant temp for IAT after it decides your faked signal is bollarks :D

Ah Dave don't have a down on this mod (not that I'm saying that this is op's intention) It's a great 10 to 15 hp release for just £1.99 plus postage off Ebay

I guess it depends how much resistance you throw in :D

Still, it won't do the engine any favours in the longer term. Fooling the calibrated ECM into thinking things are condition X, when they are condition Y, won't be ideal.

For real power you need Forced Induction... I recommend getting on of these babies - Turbo Zet! :P
