How To: Interior and Rear License Plate LEDs

Changed all my bulbs now apart from the dome above the gear knob

I had it off but the leds are too big to fit in the hole (ooo arrr!) so was wondering if anyone had any techniques or tips? Or is it simply a case of ordering different leds lol
 
theres two phillips screws on the back of the lamp unit to remove the perspex part of the light, remove these insert bulb inside crystal part and reinstall perspex.

I am not in the USA so I couldn't order from that firm direct but managed to find all the bulbs needed in a handy kit on ebay for around the £14 mark.

You can still fit the leds to the dome and reading lights, just take the plastic cover off and put them in from the other side. It's just a bit awkward to do.
 
In this corona virus self isolation times, ive been thinking of upgrading my e86 with interior LED lights.
My german is very poor, but ive been reading even on german forums about which leds i need and its a bit confusing.

In this topic there were few recommendations but the posts are quite old, and now, as i understand, i should go for 4014 leds but of what design, manufacturer etc. Links would be higly appreciated :)

Looks very much like it from memory.

Be careful with the bulbs they send. I haven't read back through the thread but thre center of the three middle over head lights is slightly to big and requires you to modify the case to fit it in.

I have seen some people drill a slightly bigger hole. I personally heated up the end of a tea spoon and melted the plastic slightly to fit it in.

If I had my time again I would have bought smaller lights.
