How to ID heated seats

How do I know if E85 leather seats are actually heated without fitting them? Is there something additional under the seat that would confirm they are heated as the seller states? :|

Yes there are cables from base but the obvious thing is there’s also a cable from the backrest as I don’t think there any other cables in the back rest

Look for the switches on the centre console above the ash tray. There should be 6 buttons instead of 4 without heated seats

There is an additional connector with 2 thicker wires, and a thin wire for the temp sensor.

Mike

Mike, is this additional connector easy to ID when looking under the seat?

It has it's own connector block. You'll have one large block for the elec seat mech if they are electric, two other smaller ones for occupancy detector and seatbelt pre tensioner and another for the heating.

They are electric so 4 blocks if heated or 3 blocks if not?

Sounds about right, I'd have to peek under and check. The seperate blocks are held together in a single multiplug carrier.

Not wishing to high jack a thread, but any chance of seeing a photo of the blocks under the heated seat?
I only ask as on another thread it stated that all pre October 2004 cars were pre wired with heated seats and that putting the switch panel in was one of the easiest mods that you could do. Mine is a May 2004 car and I’ve opened up the switch panel and it seems to have the wires need for the heated seats, but I want to check under the seats as well before I purchase the new switch panel.

In the above pic are the two connector blocks for the heated elements. The large connector goes into the main connector plug, the smaller one further back on the right is where the loom splits and goes to the seat back.

If you look at the big block connector on the pic I posted ,compare to the ones in the yellow one in your pic.The connector has three pins, the loom has a white label marked HTR 7053840.
The yellow block on your pic looks to have one empty space,so maybe no heated seats.
