How to get to the battery!

Hi guys - thought you'd be interested to know that, even in my state of muppetry, I did manage to change the the old push-pull paddles for the new pull-pull ones...and they work...and the airbag didn't go off in my face! ;)

Hello Jez
Battery is under a cover in the boot

I've been wanting to instal paddles on my E85 3.0 auto but have struggled to find the kit to do it

Could you please tell me where I can buy them, I've mailed a couple of companies that I found on line but they haven't replied

You can PM if you like

Where are you based?

I'm happy to lend a hand if you are near me in Kent

I have a nice warm, dry garage

Cheers

Hi Ken - thanks, that very kind of you to offer. I actually bought a whole steering wheel, from a 2012 car, which already had the paddles on it. I got it from Ebay and they shipped it over to me here in Abu Dhabi....it was a place in Sweden I think, so the postage was £50 (!) but the wheel and paddles were only about £220. I'm hoping I can put the old push-pull paddles back on the new wheel and sell it on to recoup some of the cost.

Just before I found the wheel on ebay, I'd found the below web site in the states and was about to order from them:

Of course this is for the E89...I suspect it won't be the same as for the E85. But best of luck anyway.

Cheers,

J.

By the way, there's an excellent set of instructions on the following site:

There's loads of pics of an installation...but even better, scroll down to almost the bottom of the thread and there's a downloadable PDF file on a post from a guy called Copperplate... he deserves much gratitude cos it made it easy.
