How to get more pops...

Hey guys,

I have a 2004 e85 2.5i,

The noise the exhaust makes on the release of throttle does give a very subtle burble and pop which sounds amazing!

Is there anything that might enhance this sound? I seen a few threads about some noise tube or something in the 3 litre variants but I don't know enough about it.

Can I please have some advice about intakes, exhaust options etc or whatever else you might suggest to make the most of my 2500cc's ta!

Depending on where you are an how far you want to travel.
Dlv is near Warrington an runs zedshed he can mod your exhaust
Or try
Machine monkey near Oxford he might be able to help

I have a back box delete... the pops, rumbles and bangs are intoxicating and it sounds insane on the business end of the Rev range.

It doesn’t bother me or the mrs and we do some long journeys, it’s more noise than a drone that gets inside your head if you know what I mean. I’ve heard that due to the different systems pre face e85’s are more droney.

For the money you should certainly look at mikes (Ducklakeview) back box mod.

Thanks guys

That’s just chopping off the rear silencer & fitting some straight through pipes instead :o

I've had mine (back box delete) for a few weeks now and absolutely love the sound, lots of people were saying it would drone but I don't find it that bad. I only use it as a weekend car so not driving everyday if that makes a difference.

Just make sure if you get it done to keep hold of the back box as you can always revert later if you don't like it or are selling.

Sounds awesome but three things that would concern me:
1. Implications for insurance. This would count as a modification
2. MOT. Testers are getting stricter on any changes outside original equipment and I am fairly sure my MOT station would give a fail particularly as change at back would be fairly obvious.
3. Implications on cars performance. More noise doesnt always mean increased performance and in some cases can impair it.

Other than that if I was younger unshackled by fear of stepping outside the norm then go for it.
