How to disable parking sensors?

My parking sensors seem to be on the blink as they just make a constant beep now, which is getting on my nerves. I don't find them especially useful anyway and am used to driving vehicles with reduced visibility, so rather than fork out to get them fixed, I'd just as soon disable them. Is it just a simple case of pulling a fuse? Or does it need to be turned off by a main dealer?

It will be a faulty sensor, seems a shame to lose such a useful option by turning it off.

You can buy a sensor off eBay and they are easy to replace by just taking the rear bumper section off.

I've just pulled fuse 8. Problem solved. TBH hughmungus, it was kind of useful when it worked but its since been an utter pain. Bumper off job is not exactly trivial for something I can easily do without! Its not to say I won't fix it in future, but for now, it can stay off!

Mine does this, all my sensors are clicking so I need to take the bumper off and clean the terminals.

Sorry if i re up this thread.

I ve removed the fuse for the parking sensor. The rear one doesnt work correctly but the front one still works :o how is it even possibile?

I ve also checked with inpa (with the fuse on) and the front sensor are in status 'not present'. How is it èven possibile?

Assuming your car is E85/E86 then any front sensors are aftermarket retro-fit. Front sensors were not available as a factory option.
