Im buying another daily driver next weekend so how do i tax it if i dont have a V5 tax form and car not in my name until i recieve the registration back from the DVLA?
And ive taxed the Zed and pay monthly now from Jan, very easy to setup

I did that last weekend, all worked out well enough. Car was mot'd when I got it, I knew I was collecting on a Friday so called the insurance earlier in the week. By the Thursday the dvla had the car marked as insured and mot'd so I could tax it on line ready for collection on Friday

Tax went well but the cars another story, collected on Friday, back to dealer on Sunday and still with them 7 days later! Bloody FIAT! :headbang: :headbang:

It looks like you have bought a whole heap of trouble ,can you return the car and ask for your money back as clearly the Fiat is not fit for purpose .

Had a fukin nightmare with the system today , totally 5hit set up that has zero flexibility :x
Fortunately it was local so i drive 15 miles this morning to view a car with cash in my pocket to sort the deal & bring it home with my son
Car spot on & price even better :) phones insurance & 4 mins later all good , then we attempt to tax the vehicle online with the V5C & all is not so good , just kept returning words to the effect " we cannot currently tax this vehicle but you can do so at your nearest high street post office by presenting the V5C " 3 times & 3 fails ! So i try the automated tel number , again same reply so seriously w4nkd off at this point :x :x already given the guy the £££ so the car was mine yet i couldnt move it
So it's 12-45 by now & ive returned home leaving the car , tried calling 9/10 local POffices but all closed
Outcome ? mrs w casually suggest i nip into town as the main PO is now in WHSmiths :( sure enough at 3pm i get the car taxed in about 45 seconds & scooted back to collect it :driving:
The system worked before , why look for a solution to a problem that wasn't there ? Just fortunate i hadn't traveled a long distance
The guy who bought my car yesterday came 160 miles , he arranged the tax the day before using the ref numbers i gave him but what if the car was not as described when he got here ?
From my first experience of the new system i can't say i'm at all impressed

It's all about saving "THEM" money - it doesn't matter if it causes us money or effort,

This. They are actually making more out of it with the monthly DD option. As PVR pointed out on another thread, just making it more expensive for those who don't have the money to pay all at once... And penalising buyers and sellers by pocketing the difference.
