How to change coolant on 2.5i z4

I'm changing the coolant on the BMW. I already drained it but I like to know what else I do after filling it. Am I supposed to let air out??? I started the car and it got hot were the light came up and started beeping. Please tell me if there is something special I need to do after filling it up.

i had the same problem recently luckily it did no damage.

at the top of the expansion bottle theres a twisty circle thing you need to unscrew (very technical :lol: ) you then need to fill the tank up to the max and keep filling, you see air bubbles come out the little hole. when you see these, keep filling until coolant/water comes out without any air bubbles in.

you have an air lock in one of the pipes. the top pipe on mine was getting hot but the other 2 weren't.

after you've done all that, screw the cap back on and start the car and leave it to idle until it gets up to optimum temperature, making sure it doesn't go past the half way mark.
