How to buy CSL wheels?

I have asked my dealer to quote me the CSL wheels and tyres as I'm tinking on getting them fitted in my M, but he said that these wheels can be sold only to owners of M3 CSL cars and he needs a chassis number to be able to order them from BMW.

How did you guys managed to get yours?

Buy the wheels from BMW if you like, but you will be much better off getting the tyres from somewhere else. You will pay through the nose otherwise.

Some dealers play ball, some dont.

You can buy them from here and I have heard good things:

There are a lot of replicas out there as well. You could always buy a CSL and get a spare set of wheels.

As it were.

These look good to me:

Bidder 1 and Bidder 2 are the only bidders? Doesn't that sound a bit fishy?

To be fair, this guy sells quite a lot of sets of CSL wheels (although not sure why/how).

I was looking for some for ages and he was regularly selling sets.

I managed to get mine via a guy selling them on BM3W however

I'd be nervous of buying those with the Conti sports on - there was a long thread on the old Z4UM about tyre formats for CSLs on Z4Ms, and this combination does not look right. If they both have a 35 profile then the circumference must be different back to front (there in usually some difference but not this much). I could be talking B8lox though and happy to stand corrected.

Better to buy fresh rims and then spec your own rubber IMHO.

From the other thread, it looks like peppernick will be selling his CSLs once his new ones come from Japan.

No your quite correct, the correct sizes are 235/35/19F and 265/30/19R or you can go for 245/35/19F and 275/30/19R.
Personally I'd want to get the PS2s on there straight away.

Last time I checked the prices at Simpson Motorsport it was only £1020 for a set of 4. That's what I paid anyway. They buy in about three sets a month so getting them isn't an issue, probably because they work on so many CSL's.

For the sake of a bit more and still in line with what BMW would charge you, I would go Simpson, peace of mind and comeback if you have any issues.....

Some good deals on ebay but not enough to make it that worthwhile IMO.
