How to adjust clutch?

I was doing a burnout the other night in first gear and I noticed a strong burnt clutch smells. Now I'm smelling that smell everyttime I drive the car in first gear. But the clutch pedal feels like it dosnt move the car until I have my feet almost completely off the pedal. Is there anyway for me to adjust the clutch pedal?
 
Congrats you've just burnt your first clutch out!

Out of interest how many miles has your car done? Sounds like you've over cooked the clutch and it needs changed

Why do a burnout in your pride and joy? - Tyres, clutch are all taking a pounding!

The most I will ever do is hold down the traction control button and do a little wheel spin from time to time, but never a full on burnout.

Congrats - you've just roasted the clutch! :fuelfire:
 
Ok I have good news. I brought my car this morning to a clutch shop. He test drove the car and said the clutch feels fine. He said it is gripping well and that there is no slippage. He said that when i did the burnout maybe I wore down the clutch and that is why it feels different on the pedal. Im going to bring it to another shop just for a second look but i feel much better now.
 
Lesson learned - Burnouts are only for the benefit of people who DON'T own the car!!!

People who do own the car should look after it so they an enjoy it for as long as possible and then, if they move on, leave it in as good condition as possible for another person to enjoy.

I hope she is OK or gets fixed. :wink:
 
I no longer smell it on first gear but I do smell it lightly sometimes when I'm done driving. Maybe I'm rising the clutch since I'm new at driving stick

I have burnt out the clutch in a car before... I found that I could smell it for weeks after it had been fixed - the smell gets in everything, and stays there. Was a constant reminder of my stupidity :headbang:

Even though it is fie, the act of burning some of it away proably means some of the smell will have entered the ventilation, so it may take a while to clear...
