How to add a amplifier to my E85 HiFi system

I have googled for days, but havent found the answer. I have a Z4 E85 2003 3.0l with HiFI system. Thats HiFi, and not DSP. I have found the amplifier and counted 10 speakers. The service mode of the head unit says "no DSP / DSP = 0".

Now I really want to add an extra amplifier and subwoofer to my car. Therefore, I have som questions:

1. I belive that theres no low range signals between the head unit and the amplifier. Just High range. Is thats right?
2. If no 1 is correct, I need to connect to a subwoofer speaker output. Does anyone now witch one of the bunch of cabels comming out of the amplifier in my car thats +/- for one of the subs?
3. Does anyone know what cable thats "power antenna / remote / amplifier ON"?

Hi there,

On the hi-fi system the head unit is sending speaker level (high range) signals to the amplifier.

The amplifier takes these 4 high level input signals Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right and splits these inputs into 10 channels:

2 x front low range
2 x front mid range
2 x front high range

2 x rear low range
2 x rear mid range

If you are keeping the existing set up and simply wishing to add a sub, you should splice (I would use scotchlok or similar) into the Rear Left and Rear Right input signals going into the amplifier from the head unit.

You can then feed these signals to your sub amp, locating this near to the BMW amp or around the bulkhead area somewhere.

Using the scotchlok connectors will make the install easily reversible so you can return the car back to standard and remove the sub should you wish in the future.

I have seen this URL before, but after I tried 3 PCs and one Mac without seeing anything I have givn up. Theres som java issue i belive.

Anyone outhere who knows what the colors for the rear speakers are and the color for the "power antenna" "ignintion for the amp" wires are?

Use internet explorer browser and a decent version of java and it will work.
