How the nav works

Hi guys

I'm looking to purchase a Z very soon and ideally want one with the nav system but I'm planning on transferring my audio system from my current car into my Z so was just wondering if my nav would be effected by putting a after market head unit in ?

Also can the nav be modified to play DVD films etc I've tried a search but its hard to find the right information

Thanks in advance

Dan

As an add on the DVD player is for the sat nav only and can't play audio or movie disks.

Sat nav is much more than a screen and DVD on the Z4. Its display integrates with steering wheel, mobile phone, computer settings & displays, audio, cd changer, etc.

Thanks so im going to have to modify everything to still work OEM with the after market head unit

I will have to relocate the original stereo into the glovebox and wire the new aftermarket into it so they work off each other whilst still being able to use nav etc

DAB digital radio , full iphone/ipod/ipad control , and makes it possible for me to fit my system which is in my current car which is component system wired to a 2 channel amp and 2 x 12" subs and mono block . and it will also make the sound quality of the standard OEM speakers alot better :D
