Hi all-still faffin with my front side bulbs, but thought after looking through pawnsacrifices pdf z4 manual it says regarding the rear lights that bmw need to fix the long led light, what does this entail?-anyone know?-thanks

As far as I know this involves the rear boot-mounted brake light and a known problem within BMW whereby the springs originally used (factory install) were too strong and tightened too much which led to the Light cracking (on the ends). Happened to mine recently, had to get a new one and replace it myself which was relatively easy with the right tools. As far as I know BMW also released a Service Bulletin about this known issue.

Slamming the boot is the trigger to break the corner if the tension springs are wound down too tight. Replaced mine with clear, tightened just enough to hold the light in and don't slam or allow mrs CJ to slam the boot. Been fine for 3 years +

Sorry to mislead you chaps but i meant the rear lights along the top (post facelift) on both sides it looks as tho these were highlighted in the manual.

Not aware of any issues with these Andy and not seen anybody with any rear light issues either.

Cheers mate i was just wondering after seeing it in the manual-it sounds as tho its a bmw job if anything does happen.
