I think that is an exact description there. The car is a cheap car, and with cheap cars you have to accept the shortcomings of those.

I am sure you can only get them in flimper spec as well, so more comparable to a Z3 I would say.

Flimper spec !!! I got,as standard,Climate control,5 stage heated seats,Cruise control,Wind deflector,Bose hi fi,Electric windows and mirrors,Leather upholstery,Front fogs,Alloys and an air compressor that runs off the cigarette lighter to do your tyres with. :P

That's flimper spec then

I have owned a mk2 mx5 for the last 4 years and for the last 3 years and 10 months it has been supercharged in various states of tune and is currently running over 200bhp. It is only when they get over 180bhp that they become fun to drive.

On all variants of MX5 you must keep the roof drains clear, blocked drains are the main cause of rotten sills.

Also get the alignment sorted, it will transform the car,

Get yourself over onto MX5nutz forum, they are a very friendly helpful bunch on there

I bought this as a bog standard, low mileage, Miata for £500, spent about £2k parts, ran it for about three years without problem and made a profit when I sold it! Dead simple to maintain and the parts are cheap and easy to get - what more can I say?
