Well, as long as it can continue to accommodate the bike rack with at least 1 and sometimes 2 bikes that's about as practical as I need it to be!

Fits a mountain bike inside, how much more practical do you want?

I don’t have a picture but you’ll have to trust me - an electric drum kit in the boot of my E85...and a 72inch longbow in the E86...

Loving that photo of Zedebee's shopping.

Buying online would drive me nuts - going shopping is one of the few essential journeys I still have!

Although there isn't as much space in an M boot, but it just means I have to go more often.

is that a Saris bike rack Chris? I assume it doesn’t damage the car at all?

Years ago I had a Triumph TR4 (BMW own Triumph name) and it was my daily driver to which I had a tow bar fitted so that a small trailer took care of any little job needed, on holiday with tents and bikes for instance.
Having said that my wife and I now own 3 sports cars and a Mondeo hatchback for a family mule.

What type of the bike rack this is? :)

Well, after Lotus Elise and Mazda MX-5, Z4 is more than practical, it has room for 2 weeks of vacation stuff, something I dreamed in Miata or Elise.. :) :D

It's the Saris bones 3 chaps. Probably the best I've used. I had 3 previous racks. Always gets admiring/envious glances and a lot of questions if I rock up in a carpark somewhere. Should be on commission from Saris!

Just use rubber matting between the feet of the rack and the bodywork and you'll incur minimal damage.
Use tie-wraps to secure the friction-fit frame straps as they have a tendancy to slide laterally in their mountings when going round bends. Once tie-wrapped it's no issue.

Looking great mate, cheers! :)

Yeah, I used rubber matt always, even on my Miata. :) But now the same bike rack used on Miata doesn't go on Z4, strange. :) As I am in Croatia, I think I have something like Saris but from Thule - https://biolab.hr/proizvod/nosaci-bicikla-thule/nosaci-bicikla-za-straznja-vrata-automobila/992-raceway-thule-nosac-bicikla-za-straznja-vrata-automobila/

Thanks Chris, I will look into one of these, I just missed out on one for £80, it would have been a bargain :(

Longbow in the E86 no problem.
