I joined up here & had a good read up to decide on the model I wanted then couldn't find an si for sale through the forum (rare & desirable see!) so turned to autotrader to find my car :driving:

Took me a few days. The car I had was causing issues so started looking at more reliable makes. Browsed BMW, never having had one before. Saw the local dealer had a yellow Z coming soon, googled the colour, thought it looked ace, went to see it when they got it, bought it, love it. End of!!!! :D

A mates sister was selling hers as she needed the space, he mentioned it to me and I had a look as I had never really taken any notice of these cars before. I suppose I thought they were expensive cars because they have that look, she was selling it at a good price, I had to have it.
Oh, and because it was blue too :D

Bought my Z4C from my mate after he was selling it for a decent price. Always admired it in the work car park but never thought I could afford something like that. Wouldn't have ever considered one if I had to buy a car through the dealerships. I'd have stuck to a generic model like a Ford and probably paid similar money!

Ebay... Via Classified ad.

Saw it on there, liked the look of it, got in touch with seller, did a deal over the phone (£500 off asking price) subject to car's condition.

Hired a trailer next day and left house @ 2pm, returning 1am following morning after a 560 mile round trip to Great Yarmouth!

BMW dealership. I was looking for and at X6's and in my usual way spotted something completely different which caught my eye, 'floated my boat' and bought that instead

Actually glad I did cause the X6 wouldn't have been ideal for what I wanted it for.

Went to main dealer for an older z4 and came away having bought a 6 month old ex demo E89. My wife was largely to blame, kept urging me on to get the new model!

I went to big motoring world in Sevenoaks to buy my wife a 1 series coupe, white with red leather, she loved the car but I had to pay to have the leather changed to black with white stitching, you just cant please women,
after the sale I had a look around the 100s of cars,
And that's when it hit me a black z4 coupe ruby black 2008, it stood out from everything around it, I sat in her and could not believe the excitement I felt, love at first sight,
I brought her right away probably paid over the top, but I didn't care, never had a BMW before (range rover man) 2nd year of ownership countless mods and now would never part from her,
I have been converted,

Bought both from independent dealers. The first took 2 hours to find, the second found me: it was on the forecourt of our local dealers.

Main dealer; took my ///MC in for a service, they offered me a new 35i with a big discount, took it for a test drive and loved it so that was it!

Both of mine were bought from 2nd hand dealers... After 12 months of running one car in the household, we decided to get something a bit more interesting as a second car. Mrs Pilot had visions of sharing something red and convertible (sharing - like that was ever going to happen! ), so it took a couple of weeks to hunt down a red 2.5. Somehow we just didn't gel - I think I'd just got that convertible thing out of my system with a previous MX5, but I just kept coming back to the thought that the Zed that was really interesting and a bit special was the Coupe.... It also helped that it would mean a move up the scale to the 3 litre engine

So after some gentle spousal persuasion and the application of man maths, the deal was done and the convertible chopped in for the coupe. Mrs Pilot swopped the Peugeot for a Mini Convertible (albeit black....) and all is well with world

Always bought from private sellers in the past but as I wanted a new one to my spec it had to be the stealers :x They matched broadspeed so that was that. :D

After an 8 month search for a 3.0si I was surprised to find one at my price point on the BMW site. Authorised Used Car 200 miles away - not my preferred colour and lacking cruise but otherwise just as others on the forum had said . . . . a terrific engine on the road test. Within 200 yards and a couple of roundabouts I immediately did a part ex on my 2.0 litre. . . .

1st one from the BMW Dealer on the southside of Glasgow just as they were taken over by Uncle Arnold.

2nd through the forum after 3 months looking.
