How often do you get oil change?

I change once a year. Last year I drove about 8000km between the changes.
That's almost identical to me: I change mine annually between official services (oil change or inspection) and cover approx 5000miles a year.

For the cost of oil and a filter it's worth it to me even for a low mileage user.

Z4 M Coupe - Castrol Motorsport TWS as recommended by M-Division - I change every 6500Kms / 4000Miles
as per handbook is 2 years or mileage/fuel counter - where do you get 4000m?

Fact is, it doesn't matter how often you change your oil. You can do no harm, only good by changing your oil often. I lived in the USA for a while and a lot of those guys almost have an oil change each time they fill up with fuel. I change mine every 5000 miles with quality synthetic oil. If you do this, you can get half a million miles out of a straight six.

Always change via the sump though and it is better to do it after a journey of about 20 miles minimum to heat the oil, then have the car stand for 20 minutes to let it all drain to the sump, but it is still warm enough to drain every drop out.

My previous M5s had scheduled 6,000 mile services anyway, and I just keep to a similar regime on the Z4MC, which means I do 1-2 interim changes (oil, oil filter, air filter) between scheduled servicing. Don't miss the £100 cost & 1 hour labour every 3 months or so.

If I'm doing a 'Ring trip then I'll do an oil change and brake fluid change before I set off.

I'm sure some people on here spend more than that on detailing every month :poke:
