How often do you get oil change?

Hey guys, just curious as to how often do you change your oil? I use synhetic and ive been told to change every 15k miles. I feel like thats to long.

I change it roughly half way through the countdown to the next service but only because I have an oil extraction pump and its easy (think thats probably ~6k miles)

stupid question but what is an oil extraction pump?

A special device that lifts the clean oil out of the dipstick and leaves the dirt and sludge in the bottom to contaminate the new oil

Seriously though as above I change mid way between countdowns. So cheap do do oil and filter it's worth doing on a 'keeper'

Does it not do what it says on the tin 15000. why let them in the middle east get richer.!!! Do you drive the car that hard all the time that it needs this or that less??? you do have an on -board, why not trust it!!!!

I just follow the owner's manual which says once a year. (Or, if it is recommended at major service intervals.) Z4 pilot

If you have that kind of sludge you have bigger problems to worry about than oil change intervals . Actually pleasantly suprised how close to the rated oil capacity it sucked out on both my M54B30 and S54B32; the main dealer can have the fun and mess of gravity draining the oil the conventional way when the book needs a stamp/service indicator goes ping.

Castrol Edge is the same oil used under a different name at the Dealerships.

About £24+Vat from Costco for 4 litres if u have or know someone with a card

Every 6 months, thats about 5000 to 6000 miles.
i use 5w40 fully synthetic, i do my self and costs me approx 30 pounds.
At that price and half an hout of my time i think its worth it
