How much power does a 35 iS have ?

Press and hold your sport plus button for around 3 sec til a yellow light comes on the dash. Now try your acceleration with the box in sport. The changes are rock solid and super fast, acceleration is mental with no electronic jiggerypokery interfering...
I like Sport+ and use it a lot - with DSC on (i.e. with the yellow light off) - not least because I live near good country roads that are appropriate for both of them.

(For me, "mental" acceleration is under 4 secs to 60 mph, which the 35iS isn't near, and I believe you can never switch off all the "electronic jiggerypocker" in it, no matter how many buttons you press.)

[In the 35i, do you have to "hold your sport plus button for 3 secs ..."? In the 35iS, there's a separate button.]

Have you tried Launch Control ?
Nope. Have no circumstances in which I want to use it and the handbook isn't very enthusiastic about its use, anyway.

It was demonstrated by a pal in his company car - It is absolutely brutal!

You should try a powerful motorbike, they’re in a different league. The sedate bmw i purchased for commuting gets to 60mph in around 4 seconds :o

Yep, the extra button is the one I am talking about, hold it down till the yellow light comes on. I always thought we had normal - sport - then sport +. The guy at Celtic tuning told me to try it, it turns the car into a nutter. All stability and traction is off so NO electronics interfering by trying to act like a non slip diff etc. Before I had my Pilot Sport 4S put on I had bridgestone potenza (50% TEFLON LOL). On the slip road going up to the A38 in Plymouth it was kicking the back end out as it went into third!!!! and around 120 mph easy at the end of the slip road (which is uphill!!!!).
Mine is stage one, decats, intercooler and just had applications reset in the DCT following gearbox work which has sharpened it up a bit.

Yeah, you can't beat bikes for the great acceleration rush they give, and bang for buck 0-60 times, etc.
Ever since the early Fireblades came out(though they were heavy compared to a Ducatti 916,etc,circa 20 years ago,and could pull 0-69 in around 3.2 seconds 😃

In saying that,I find you can only go so fast round corners on them, unless you're a pro racer or have a wish to come off it.
On runs,I tend to find bikes hold me up alot in corners, and usually don't get the better of me on straights either,as you will know, the road surface usually doesn't allow you to safely go as fast as some bikes can.

I would love the current BMW RR,sports bike though 😀

Impressive. What mechanical changes does the '1+' involve?

Stage 1+ can be flashed over OBD and modifies various parameters, including boost psi.
A Intercooler upgrade is recommended but not mandatory, you can decide for this your self when looking at your AIT temps and logs.
