How much mileage from the run-flats?

All,

With all the discussion around the factory tires not being the best, I was curious how much mileage you folks get out of them. I recall only getting 11K out of the factory tires on my Z3. What kind of life expectancy should I expect from the run-flats that come on the si?

You've all been a lot of help so far. Thank you so much,

I got about 1200 miles out of mine in just under a month.

But I was so disgusted with them I replaced them with PS2s and sold the run flats to a guy who wanted them as replacements to toss on his car before he turned it in at he end of his lease. :D

On a 2.5 Z4 I used to get 25k out of a set but that was a massive amount of motorway journeys.

My OEM lasted about 23k; the largest part was highway miles. By 12k, I had noticed a definite reduction in wet road traction and by 17k, they were getting downright dangerous on wet roads.

Replaced them with Goodyear Eagle F1s and have never had a problem; better ride, quieter, extremely better wet road handling throughout the life of the tire, and cost quite a bit less. The Goodyears wore out after about 26k and I replaced them with the same. Next time, I will go with the all season, the Tire Rack performance rates them about the same as the F1s but the tread wear is nearly double, and still cheaper by a little.

Mine still had OEM runflats till around the 25k mark. The rears had very little tread by that time though :?

I have around 25,000 to 30,000 miles on the potenza runflats, and I'm at about half of the tread left...can't remember exactly with switching between those and winter tires.

bought Oct. 2006, now has 41,000 miles, so i'm assuming most of that was on the potenzas.

I guess my driving style is not the average of other Z drivers. I also rotate them every 5,000.
