how much gearbox oil?

hi all
does anyone know exactly how many litres are required for the 6 speed manual gearbox z4 3.0i on 04 plate
also is the redline d4 atf the best?

Hmmm.... Autodata doesnt state the capacity for the 6 speed but i assume its a typo as it lists:

Manual 4/5 speed: 1.0-2.5 L

Regarding oil grades:

6 Speed = MTF-LT-3, Part No. 83-22-7-533-818
With no Label = SAE 80 (MIL-L-2105 or API-GL-4)

Is it noticeable when you need new/more oil? Im sure mine isn't as smooth as it should be. Ive just had my Inspection II but Im not sure if that gtes changed/topped up?

i couldnt promise it would, but it wont hurt to put fresh oil in.

not too sure how easy/difficult it is to change on the Z4 what with the gearbox being right under the car, never worked on a BMW myself before and i'm hoping i never need to with the Zed
