This is at a garage near me and it's got me thinking. It's low spec which worries me, but to be honest, the only thing I'd miss from my current car are the heated seats and Bluetooth. I'd never use nav anyway. I could get iPhone/iPod connection fitted and that'd take car of the fact there is no changer and it'd be easy enough to get dealer to fit Bluetooth module (am I right in saying this?).

I know there are others out there which are cheaper so how much should this one be? It's got FBMWSH and all at right times too (just had inspection 1) and it's had a strut brace fitted by same dealer selling the car.

I'm definitely on the market for an M ideally 57ish plate so if you know of any a heads up would be nice! 

It doesn't look a terrible price for a dealer - as you say, it's a very low spec example - but it depends whether the spec is good enough for you, as it's not worth paying for something you don't want/use.

I'd guess one with nav & decent hi-fi, in individual spec would be another £1k on top at least.

At least buying from a BMW dealer, rather than a private/non-BMW dealer, gives you a full year's AUC warranty - which would cost you another £500-1000 (depending on level of cover) on a private/non-BMW car.

Looks OK and I'm sure it could be secured for £20,000, however, the basic spec and colour combo are going to hurt it on resale. I would look further afield, probably England, for a better specced car at the same money. Bit more hassle but that's where the decent deals usually are in my experience. My M3 and Z4M came from Yeovil and Bristol respectively. On both occasions the cars in Scotland were very poor value and limited in choice.

bluetooth would be easy to add but I reckon the dealer would want £700+ and it's pretty crap trying to navigate the phone book without Nav.

Don't think Interlarogs and red go together either. IMO

Sounds that you are not 100% on this zed with £20K to spend you will get one that will have every thing you want on.
Have a good look round and find the zed for you Good luck

Just had a look at the AUC and the current stock has laughable pricing variances. This car, to me, looks overpriced for one of that colour combination and with so little kit (cars that basic are rare)...yet based on the evidence it depends strongly on the dealer! As always seems to be the case with the Ms, some think they are worth a fortune, others below what you would expect.....

Personally I think you could buyer a better equipped car for less money though

Agreed! Can't believe how much variance there is 

I'll wait it out and get the one I really want. Was just interested in what people thought about a low spec car like this and how much you should be looking to pay for it with the spec in mind.

If you look at this one, pretty similar (was also impossible to sell):

This dealer is only 10 mins from where i live and to be brutally honest i wouldnt buy from them.
Now before i get slated,i have looked at several cars they have had in in the past and they have all been what i would describe as well tatty.
As for the after sales service they used to be not too bad when they were just Harry Faibairns but since good old Arnold has taken over i have heard and witnessed various bad reports.
I can clarify with anyone if they want but will only do this via PM.
My advice to the op is look elsewhere,my Z4MR came from Exeter bought last March with much better spec only 7.5k miles for £22k.

Mine's not selling particularly well either, but it's not in Imola or Interlagos - although I'm not particularly doing the hard-sell on anyone who calls, especially can't be bothered with those callers demanding a £1k-£2k discount over the phone because they've seen another Z4MC (different spec) cheaper...FFS :headbang:

I feel sorry for them in some ways, because had they actually come to see it they would see the condition of the car, and would maybe even get a bit knocked off the price for having only 4-5mm on the tyres, or for having sat-nav when they didn't want it :headbang:

wouldn't worry about the seat colour, I am sure some members would like a black for red swap-out, if it was a concern. I actually like it. but then I don't do conservative. :D

Don't buy that shed.

Buy mine, it's a lower price , less miles on the clock, on a 07 plate, BMW warranty with a high spec and I'd guess in better condition.

Simples.

I saw an AUC MC with Nav and Bluetooth going for £18,200 about a month or so ago.

This one is waaaay over priced in my opinion.

That also seems to imply that a similar private one should be £16k max - unless there was something shady in the service history that required a bargain basement price (i.e. no running in service, 60,000 miles, etc.).
